Your Body Knows

You know that moment when you realize your body tried to warn you, but you didn’t catch it? Maybe your stomach dropped right after. Maybe tension hit hours later. Either way, you wish you could rewind and choose again.

It’s like arriving somewhere and realizing you don’t remember the drive.
You weren’t present.
You were on autopilot.

And that’s how it happens:

You say yes and feel a quiet tightening.
You stay pleasant while your breath gets shallow.
You push through even as your energy pulls away.

We override our bodies so fast, we don’t even feel the override.

Until one day… we do.

Something clicks.
You finally connect the dots: my body knew before I did.

That’s the shift.
Not enlightenment — recognition.

Here’s the part we overlook:

Most of us aren’t ignoring our intuition.
We’re just too tired.
Busy.
Overloaded.

Trained our whole lives to stay agreeable and keep moving.

So by the time your body speaks loudly enough to hear,
you’ve already blown past the early signals.

The truth is simple:

Your body isn’t trying to stop you.
It’s trying to steer you.

Not with words.
With sensations:

A contraction.
A softening.
A pullback.
An opening.

The most honest data you’ll get all day —
and we miss it because we expect it to sound like a word or a thought.

And here’s the real reason this work feels hard:

You won’t catch the signals at first.
Not when you’re exhausted, distracted, or running on duty.

So stop trying to catch it in real time.
That comes later.

Start where you are.

For this week, try this instead:
Notice the moment you realize you already overrode yourself.

The sigh after you say yes.
The tension after the conversation.
The heaviness after the commitment you didn’t want to make.

These aren’t failures.
These are body-messages that arrived late —
because late was the only way they could get through.

Start there.

Ask:
Where did my energy drop?
What did I override?
What did my body know that I didn’t listen to?

Here’s the point:
Noticing afterward isn’t a miss — it’s the beginning of self-trust.

That’s the doorway.
Not catching it in the moment —
recognizing that there was a moment.

Because once you see the pattern,
you have a choice.

Not to get it perfect.
But to meet yourself differently next time.

A softer yes.
A clearer no.
A pause long enough to feel the truth.

That’s how you rebuild the connection.

One realization at a time.
One late signal at a time.
One honest pause at a time.

Your body isn’t a problem to fix.

It’s the compass that’s been waiting to guide you.

The Heart of It

Your body knows before you do.
Start with the signals you notice late —
they’re still guidance.
they’re still wisdom.
And they always arrive on time.

If something stood out for you today, I’d love to know.
Come share it with me on Instagram.
