When something lands
Completion doesn’t always arrive the way we expect.
Sometimes it’s quieter than that—
a subtle shift where something no longer pulls at you…
and you realize it’s done.
I recently finished something.
It’s interesting how different completion feels than I expected.
I thought it would feel like relief.
Or excitement.
Like something would release.
But what I’m noticing is quieter than that.
This has been something that’s taken up space for a long time.
Not just time—
but mental space.
Emotional space.
Something I would return to, step away from, and revisit again.
There were versions of it that worked…
but didn’t feel like me.
And I could feel that.
Even when I tried to move past it.
So it stayed open.
In the background.
Pulling at me—just enough not to ignore.
And then, over time…
that resistance lifted.
Not because I pushed through it.
Not because I finally made it perfect.
But because what was there
no longer pushed back.
There was nothing left that felt off.
Nothing I needed to adjust.
And in that…
it landed.
What surprised me most
is that the need to perfect it disappeared at the same time.
Not because I lowered the standard—
but because it finally felt like me.
Not everything needs to be pushed to completion.
Some things just need the space to land.
And when they do…
they stop taking up space inside you.
If something you’re working on still feels like it needs more…
it might not be asking for more effort.
It might just be waiting
to feel more like you.
If something here lands for you, I’d love to hear.

If you’re starting to notice something that no longer feels like it needs to be worked on…
even if part of you still wants to keep adjusting it… this is the kind of space I hold in coaching.
