Abundance is what’s yours

There’s a strange moment that comes after years of doing everything right. You look at your full, busy, competent life… and notice parts that don’t quite belong. You may not be able to name them yet, but you feel the weight.

You can do a lot.

You’ve proven that.

You manage projects.
You help friends.
You hold things together.
You solve problems before anyone asks.

Capability isn’t your issue.

Discernment is.

Because when you can do almost everything, it’s easy to start doing things that were never yours.

Not out of weakness.
Out of love.
Out of habit.
Out of being the reliable one.

And slowly, your life fills with things that don’t quite fit.

Nothing dramatic.
Just a quiet heaviness.

I heard a quote once:
Abundance is the ability to do what needs doing.

I recognized myself in it — and that’s why it didn’t sit right.

Because many of us already do what needs doing.
All day. Every day.

That isn’t abundance.
That’s exhaustion wearing good manners.

So I kept sitting with it.

And something softer came.

Abundance is the ability to do what truly calls you —
and the freedom to decline what doesn’t.

That felt true.

Because abundance isn’t more capacity.

It’s clearer choice.

Before saying yes lately, I’ve been asking myself three small questions.

Does this really move me?
Do I have the capacity right now?
If I say yes, what do I say no to?

No drama.
Just noticing.

Sometimes the answer is still yes.

But it’s lighter.
Cleaner.

And sometimes the answer is no.

Nothing collapses.

Life rearranges itself.

You don’t need to do everything you’re capable of.

You need to do what’s yours.

That’s where ease shows up.
That’s where self-trust grows.
That’s where abundance starts to feel real.

If something in your life is asking for a yes right now… pause.
Ask the three questions.

Notice what your body says.

If you’re noticing how easily you take on what isn’t yours — simply because you can — this is the kind of work we gently explore in coaching.
